2. Lake Tekapo
Coloured turquoise by glaciers, Lake Tekapo is picture-perfect. With lupins in bloom from spring to summer, the Church of the Good Shepherd perched upon its shores and the Southern Lights gleaming in the night sky, you’re bound to snap a few good photos here.
3. Milford Sound
Whether it’s by boat or by plane, Milford Sound is an absolute must-see. Cascading waterfalls, high mountain peaks, suspension bridges, dense forests and an underwater world await in this stunning part of New Zealand known as Fiordland.
4. Hobbiton
If you’re a fan of The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit films (and even if you’re not!), you need to visit Hobbiton, in “Middle-earth”. Located in the Waikato region, this beautiful countryside was originally the home of a simple sheep farm but now houses 44 Hobbit Holes, which you can explore on a magical tour of The Shire.
